French antique wash bowl and jug by UC Sarreguemines

150.00

Antique French Country black and white Pitcher made by UC Sarreguemines in the 1800s

Well over 100 years old. this beautiful, antique French washing set was produced by the faiencerie (pottery) Sarreguemines. It dates from the late 1800s and there is makers stamp on the bottom with the name of the model "jardinière" in French.

The beautiful floral transferware pattern is a pretty black against a white background. Very rare and unusual colour combination.

This pitcher and large bowl were made for using in the bathroom or bedroom washstand, however since the introduction of modern plumbing they now look beautiful, creating a French décor feel, suitable for many rooms in the house - stunning with some flowers on the kitchen table, a sunny windowsill or in the bathroom or bedroom.

Both the bowl and jug are in good condition. There is some expected age related crazing and staining to the glaze, and a small repaired chip to the edge of the bowl and a chip to the base - see photos

Jug height 15 cm, width 20 cm, length 23cm or approx 6", 8" , 9"
